There is no denying the fact that being on your teacher’s good book is one of the ways to guarantee your success in his/her subject.
However, sometimes, a teacher just doesn’t like you. Maybe you accidentally disrespected them once, and they never forgave you. Maybe they overheard a rumour about you, or heard you talking about them. Maybe you weren’t a great student in the beginning of the year, and they don’t want to give you a second chance. Whatever the reasoning behind it, dealing with a teacher who has it out for you can potentially ruin your entire result and school year.
If you’re in such situation, or any of your friends is, these 5 tips can help:
Don’t Give Them A Reason To Dislike You
If you’re already on a teacher’s bad side, be on your best behaviour all the time so that you don’t give them another reason to dislike you. Stay quiet in class, get your work done, and do what is asked of you. If you’re doing all of the right things, they’ll either change their mind – or it gives you more of a reason to discuss this issue with someone else.
Go To Extra Help
Show your teacher that they’re wrong about you by showing up to extra help and going above and beyond what you’re supposed to do. Don’t be annoying about it, just do it. Once they see how hard you’re trying, they may feel differently about you.
Focus On Following The Rules
Make sure you are following every rule exactly how you were told. If you’re confused on how to do something, talk to your teacher and get a clear answer. Make sure you’re doing everything exactly right so that if you complain about this, you have every reason to do so.
Have A Private Talk With Your Teacher
If you feel like things are out of hand, have a private talk with your teacher. You shouldn’t be like, Make it clear that you’re a serious student, and be polite about it. A talk like this shows that you respect your teacher. It may help them warm up to you.
Get Your Parents Involved
If you feel like the situation is really unfair, go to your parents. Tell them what’s going on. Be honest with your story. If you did do something wrong to make your teacher dislike you, tell your parents that. It’s hard for them to fight for you if they don’t have all the facts. Your parents may be able to have a meeting with your teacher and might accomplish more than you can.
